Using Sylomer® Marine strips, floors and walls are isolated from surrounding structures to minimise sound transmission.
This approach is ideal for protecting vibration- and noise-sensitive areas such as cabins, wheelhouses, and power distribution units – helping to improve comfort and extend service life. The same method can be applied to engine rooms, ventilation systems, helipads, entertainment zones, and swimming pools, preventing vibrations from spreading through the structure and increasing the longevity of the equipment.
Bearing of HVAC units
As modern buildings become more complex in design and systems, they are increasingly susceptible to vibrations and the transmission of structure-borne noise from internal equipment.
Sylomer®, Sylodyn®, and Isotop spring isolators offer long-lasting, stable performance – making them ideal for reducing vibrations generated by HVAC systems and other building services.
Mounting of machinery and technical building systems
Mechanical equipment and other technical building systems also generate vibrations and unwanted noise.
By using bearings made from Sylomer®, Sylodyn®, and Isotop, sound insulation is achieved directly at the source of the vibrations. These elastic bearings decouple equipment acoustically from the structure, reducing both vibrations and noise. This process minimizes the transmission of noise to pipes and ducts running through walls and ceilings.
Machine bearings
Machines produce vibrations that can affect the surrounding environment unless proper decoupling measures are implemented. These vibrations can negatively impact nearby areas, production efficiency, quality processes, and even neighboring communities. Getzner’s elastic machine bearings minimize vibrations and structure-borne noise to a near zero level.
Depending on the specific needs, the bearings are mounted on Sylomer®, Sylodyn®, or Isotop spring isolators, delivering exceptional results every time.
Decoupling of electronic elements
Instruments such as microscopes, cameras, control panels, and displays are often vulnerable to disturbances like shocks and unwanted vibrations, which can affect their performance. To protect these sensitive devices, Getzner Werkstoffe’s unique polyurethane materials, Sylomer® and Sylodyn®, provide the ideal solution. By applying elastic decoupling to or within these instruments, functionality is ensured, and the lifespan of the products is greatly extended.
Depending on the specific needs, the materials offer protection against continuous vibrations (at low amplitudes) or against single and repeated shocks (at high amplitudes). With variable properties, such as those of a spring, damper, or a combination of both, these materials significantly enhance the durability of instruments when properly calculated and applied.
Thanks to their long-lasting, stable elastic properties and effective vibration isolation, these materials guarantee that sensitive electronic equipment will operate smoothly without disruption.
MRT bearings
Vibrations in hospitals are highly undesirable due to their potential to disrupt medical equipment and patient care. Various sources of vibrations, such as air-handling units, tomographs, and X-ray machines, generate significant vibrations across a range of frequencies. These can interfere with other devices and negatively impact medical treatments and patient well-being. As a result, effective vibration suppression is crucial.
Sylomer® and Sylodyn® offer excellent static load capacity and load distribution, making them ideal for use as mounts for magnetic resonance tomographs. This effectiveness has been proven over many years.
Through the use of these materials, Getzner contributes to both health and the creation of a more patient-friendly environment in healthcare facilities.
Pump bearings
Regardless of whether a pump is transporting gaseous or liquid media, they all have one thing in common: pumps generate vibrations, which in turn lead to secondary airborne noise.
An effective method of isolating these vibrations is to elastically decouple the pump. The appropriate elastic bearings are selected based on factors such as the type of medium, pressure, conveyance distance, and the pump’s design (e.g., foundation bearing).
For decades, the combination of Isotop spring elements and a Sylomer® bearing has been a proven solution for all requirements.
