Cellasto Microcellular Polyurethane Elastomer

Cellasto Microcellular Polyurethane Elastomer

Cellasto is the brand name for BASF Polyurethanes’ high-performance microcellular polyurethane elastomer. For over 60 years, Cellasto components have proven to be a reliable solution for managing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) in automotive chassis and suspension systems. Common uses include jounce bumpers, shock absorber mounts, and coil spring isolators.

Beyond the automotive industry, Cellasto is also used in a wide range of other applications such as spring ejectors, elevator safety buffers, paper handling systems, friction dampers, and mounting components for sub-frames, motors, and vehicle bodies.

Material Properties

  • Low compression set.
  • High volume compressibility with minimum lateral expansion.
  • Excellent mechanical properties & durability.
  • Highly versatile – Noise isolation at small amplitude & high frequency.
  • Vibration isolation at large amplitude & low frequency.
  • Abrasion resistant.
  • Resistant to ozone, oils, greases and other aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Material Uses

  • NVH solutions for industry applications.
  • Adds premium-quality comfort to office furniture.
  • Create safer, more comfortable power tools.
  • Reduces NVH for appliances.
  • Reduces NVH for improved elevator / heavy equipment operation.
  • Improves NVH for superior safety and performance of light vehicles.
  • Improves productivity in printing and packaging operations.
  • Perfect companion for all sports and leisure equipment.

Cellasto Cellasto
Cellasto Quick View
Cellasto is successfully used as the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) solution for automotive chassis and suspension applications such as jounce bumpers, shock absorber top mounts and coil spring isolators
EPDM
EPDM Quick View
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a synthetic Sponge Rubber. It is a good all round Elastomer used in many industries. EPDM sponge Rubber has excellent water, ozone and UV light resistance
EVA
EVA Quick View
Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) cellular sponge offers rubber like qualities in softness and flexibility and can be used economically in a wide range of applications. The higher the VA content - the more rubber like qualities it offers
Natural Open Cell Rubber Natural Open Cell Rubber
Natural Open Cell Rubber is the first type of Sponge Rubber that is made by adding a blowing agent like baking soda to the uncured sponge rubber. It then rises or expands under low pressure a little like a cake would rise.
Neoprene
Neoprene Quick View
Developed as an oil resistant replacement for Natural Rubber. Neoprene is a soft and flexible sponge rubber with a unique molecular structure that makes it resistant to breakdown by both water and air
